If you are speaking of one investor with one investment or speaking of his total profits collectively, 'return' is correct. Unless 'Sales & Marketing Investments' is the name of a fund or group, it should not be capitalize and 'and' should be spelled out.

He made a good return on his sales and marketing investments.

Some of his sales and marketing investments gave better returns than others.

Thanks Lewis. In my case I am talking about a collective/combined return of all "sales & marketing investments". So I believe 'return' is fine.eg: Our aim is to improve the return on sales and marketing investments.
