Passive voice

I get some errors for this sentence because of passive voice use, but I do not know how to fix it. Can someone help me?

My sentence; From the food producers’ perspective, little attention has been put on this growing group, and even less effort has been done in understanding their eating habits.

Best regards, Lene Norway

Passive voice is where the subject of the verb receives the action of the verb. There will always be a form of the verb 'to be' within the predicate.

...attention has been put...  'Attention' is the subject, but it's receiving the action.

...effort has been done... The same here with 'effort'.

Here is your sentence rewritten in active voice with 'food producers' as the subject.

Food producers have paid little attention to this growing group and expended even less effort understanding their eating habits.
