Subject Verb Agreement with "That"

Which is correct?

I believe it is required of a pastor that he loves God and lets God lead him, and that he loves God's people and leads them to love God....

OR

I believe it is required of a pastor that he love God and let God lead him, and that he love God's people and lead them to love God...

I feel like the first sample is correct because it would be correct to say "He loves God and lets God lead him...", but when I say, "It is required that he love God..." it doesn't sound completely incorrect either, at least not until I add the rest of the sentence.

The subjunctive mood comes into use in this sentence. One condition of the subjunctive is when the sentence recommends or requests. This would make your second sentence correct. The ellipsis indicates that some of the sentence is missing. You should consider breaking this down into two sentences if what is missing is very long.

I believe it is required of a pastor that he love God and let God lead him, and that he love God's people and lead them to love God...
