You could write sitting for the final exam again or take the final exam again.

My most memorable experience was when I had to go back to secondary school after graduation, sitting for the final exam again to earn satisfactory grades.

OR

My most memorable experience was when I had to go back to secondary school after graduation, and take the final exam again to earn satisfactory grades.

Is memorable the word you want to use?  Typically, we use memorable when talking about something we've enjoyed.  I'm not convinced that going back to school to take an exam again is an experience I'd enjoy.  Perhaps it could be called a humbling experience?
