Is the sentence 'she is as clever as he' correct?
The thing to remember with this kind of sentence is that the *subject* pronoun is correct:
"She is as clever as he."
Most speakers would probably say, "She is as clever as *him*" but that is incorrect. Think of it this way: The complete thought is "She is as clever as he (is clever)" and you realize that we wouldn't say "him* is clever"!
