When do you use a apostraphe


When writing Happy Holidays on a card do you write Happy Holidays or Happy Holiday's.

There is no apostrophe in Happy Holidays.  You add the s to make holiday plural.  The 's is used to show ownership.  When we say "happy holidays" we include two or more holidays  that happen during this time of year after Thanksgiving & until New Year's Day.  On January 1st, the day belongs to the new year - so we use the apostrophe there.
