When do you use a apostraphe
When writing Happy Holidays on a card do you write Happy Holidays or Happy Holiday's.
There is no apostrophe in Happy Holidays. You add the s to make holiday plural. The 's is used to show ownership. When we say "happy holidays" we include two or more holidays that happen during this time of year after Thanksgiving & until New Year's Day. On January 1st, the day belongs to the new year - so we use the apostrophe there.
