"Art involves more than knowing how to draw, paint or mold clay" - sounds better to me. What do others think?

I agree, Wiktor, that using 'involves' makes it that much clearer. Another option: Learning about art/Studying art/Knowing art is more than... It all depends on what you want to mean when you say 'art'. A Clil To ClimbNov 18 '11 at 17:10

I agree with Wiktor.  Changing "is" to "involves" seems to add more emphasis.
