Misspelled words and typos

I am not sure why I received points off for correctly spelling my professor's name. His name is Dr. Victor Oladapo

See example:

You must have gotten points off for something else. My students almost always misspell my name, but I am never picky about this.

I don't know about the points. I don't work for Grammarly and don't use its software. I'm not sure why the points are important. That said, I can tell you that there is no spell checker in the world that will recognize uncommon names. There are just too many names and spellings to include in a database. An English spell checker will probably recognize Catherine and maybe Bradfield, but Oladapo is just not going to be in the software's database.
