Ainaz, it is not clear what your writing or grammar question is.
I would write your text like this:
Which maxim does the speaker seem to be particularly careful about? I may be mistaken, but I thought I saw a wedding ring on his finger.
Just a note, unlike in many other languages, in English we always capitalise the first person singular pronoun, I.
