is the word necessary modifying the verb obtain?
Would this fix my sentence?
I am currently at Johnson to obtain the necessary tools to make this transition.
See example:
I am currently at Johnson to obtain the tools necessary to make this transition.

The sentence structure depends on whether Johnson is a store for tools or a University/school for educational tools necessary to make a transition...and, you also have to be more clear about what kind of transition you refer to, for the sentence to make complete sense.
