MLB All-Star Game 2013 live streaming online HQ TV (flagged)
With the Home Run Derby concluded, Tuesday night brings the MLB All-Star Game 2013 live to televisions across the globe. While it won't be live streaming online, the televised game will feature rosters of American and National League fan-favorites along with coach-selected players battling it out. The winning side will reward that league's representative team the 2013 World Series home field advantage, giving the game some extra meaning for teams or players that are currently in the playoff hunt.
A July 15 report on MLB indicates that hometown pitcher Matt Harvey of the New York Mets will be the National League starting pitcher on the mound tonight. This year's game is hosted at Citi Field in New York, and Harvey will join teammate David Wright as part of the NL's starting lineup. On the other side, Max Scherzer of the Detroit Tigers will start as pitcher, thanks to a 13-1 record so far this season.
The 24-year-old Harvey, is currently ranked third in the league for earned run average by pitchers with an impressive 2.35 ERA. He was born in New London, Conn., just hours from New York, where he grew up dreaming of this particular moment, as he recently told the media:
"As a kid growing up in Connecticut, you go to those games and you want to be there and be one of those guys. It's something I'm tremendously thankful for. It's in New York, my first All-Star Game, my family [and] friends are going to be here. I'm definitely keeping my eyes and ears open, and trying to absorb as much as I can."
In terms of the MLB All-Star Game starting lineups, both teams are full of the top stars in the game today. The American League roster will consist of three Orioles in the starting lineup as Chris Davis plays first base, Adam Jones plays center field and J.J. Hardy will start at shortstop. Joining them will be several other players from their division with Robinson Cano of the Yankes at second base, Jose Bautista of the Blue Jays at right field, and David Ortiz of the Red Sox as the DH. Also starting will be Mike Trout of the Angels in left field and Joe Mauer of the Twins at catcher.
One-third of the National League starting lineup for the All-Star game is Colorado Rockies this year. Carlos Gonzalez will play left field, while Troy Tulowitzki takes the shortstop starting spot and Michael Cuddyer will serve as starting DH. Joining them will be two Reds: Brandon Phillips at second base and Joey Votto at first base, as well as two Cardinals: Carlos Beltran in right field and Yadier Molina at catcher. Bryce Harper of the Nationals will start in center field, with the aforementioned David Wright starting at third base. Complete All-Star game rosters, including pitchers and reserves, can be seen here at MLB.
The MLB All-Star Game 2013 start time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST on Tuesday night. Fox will present the game on cable or satellite service providers, including Roanoke's Cox Cable channel 8. Unfortunately for fans without access to a TV, there won't be any MLB All-Star Game live streaming coverage for the latest edition of the classic baseball contest.
