Punctuation within parenthesis
When would you put punction marks inside vs outside the parenthesis?

Both are correct. You can either add a clause in parentheses to an end of a sentence and put the punctuation on the outside or you can add a complete sentence that digresses from the main idea and punctuate the sentence within the parentheses.
