Which should I use? participate or participation

We appreciate that you will be devoting your valuable time to participation on this board.  We therefore pay a EURO 750 members' honorarium for each meeting you attend, plus reimbursement of your travel expenses, including airfare.  Airfare reimbursement will be in accordance with your company’s travel policy.  We request that you complete a travel reimbursement voucher following each meeting.

"Participation" is correct. However, the verb tenses still sounds a little awkward. I would rephrase it as such:

 

"We appreciate that you are devoting your valuable time to participation on this board.  We will therefore pay..."
