Question Marks - Quotation Marks

I have read a lot on this site and other sites regarding punctuation with the use of question marks in quotation marks but I have yet to get a definitive answer to this question:

Many people come to our website looking for an answer to the question, "What is the meaning of life?"

I presumed this was correct but one of my managers queried this as it isn't REALLY a quotation and it isn't really a QUESTION so to speak.

As I said, I haven't yet found a clear answer to this.

Any thoughts?

"What is the meaning of life?"  is definitely a question and should have a question mark after it. I agree with the way you wrote it, but the boss is, after all, the boss.
