Is "shows" OK, or should I say "shows us". Or is "reveals" a better word?

Gideon’s repeated request for confirmatory signs shows an inconsistent faith and how we all must learn to walk by faith and not by sight.

Shows is better than shows usRepeated request should be repeated requests.  I am not a bible expert, but based on my scan of the Wikipedia entry for Gideon, I would suggest for proof of God's will instead of for confirmatory signs. You are using the words walk and sight metaphorically, and metaphors can be great, including in biblical exegesis, but they sound awkward here and I would suggest that both of them be deleted in favor of something like this: we all must learn to trust God completely.
