Which is correct and why?
The boss would appreciate your attending the meeting. OR The boss would appreciate you attending the meeting
Either one is correct. The difference is subtle; the possessive pronoun makes 'attending' a gerund and noun. The non-possessive 'you' makes it a participle and an adjective.
Here's a good resource. Hunt around for the gerunds.
