couldn't find or couldn't found


Are both of these sentences are correct, If yes then how these are different, If no then which one is wrong and why?

1. She couldn't find the book.

2. She coudn't found the book.

#1 is correct; #2 is incorrect for 2 reasons, you must follow could with find not found, and you have spelled couldn't incorrectly.

can, could, shall, should, may, might, must etc... are auxiliary words.  An infinitive should be written just after auxiliaries.

She could not write.

She could not listen.

She may come.

He should do it.
