Need to change passive voice to active

How would i change this sentence to active voice? Homes are then given at Columbus, Buffalo, Detroit, Boston, Washington, and other points, and from these came the Soldiers' Homes in the different States where so many otherwise homeless worthy veterans of the war are now maintained in comfort.

To change to the active voice, you need the subject to be someone doing the action.  Your subject is "homes" and the actions are being done to them, making it passive.

You have several other problems with your sentence.  It should really be two separate sentences.  Start the second sentence at "from".

You start out by saying the homes "are then given," indicating present and future actions.  Then you state that these present and future actions created something in the past.

States should not be capitalized.

"Homeless worthy veterans" should be "homeless, but worthy, veterans."

We don't usually maintain people.  Pick another verb.
