verb tense


Is the verb tense correct in this sentence?

See example:

I suggested that they include a check of the IUID registry during the yearly inventory to identify any errors.

You're fine with this. The suggestion was made in the past, so past tense is appropriate. The inclusion would have happened after the suggestion, so the tense of 'include' is proper, also.

At school, /many of my schoolmates use smartphones. One day, /I saw my teacher /scolding a group of my classmates. //During our homeroom class, / she reminded us not to use our cell phones for any bad thing /like bullying and pornography//.  Though, / I don’t know what they actually did, / I sensed that my classmates were in big trouble because of using their smartphones. //Seeing that, /I told myself, /“never a smartphone for me! “.
