Help with "Modifiers : Misplaced and dangling"?
Whats the Misplaced and dangling modifiers correction sentence for "The musicians wife wore a diamond pin in her hair which had been bought in Paris"
Is this correct ?? "A diamond pin which had been bought in Paris was worn in hair by the musicians wife."
The first version of the sentence is way better than your edit, and it doesn't have any dangling modifiers. A couple of updates are needed, though:
- Change "muscians" to "musician's," to show possession.
- Add a comma before "which."
The musician's wife wore a diamond pin in her hair, which had been bought in Paris.
You could strengthen your sentence by making the vague "which had been bought" more specific. For instance:
The musician's wife wore a diamond pin in her hair, which she bought in Paris.
Hope that helps!
