A brilliant military man, Joshua commanded the officers to prepare for battle, and in three days they would set out to conquer the land God had given them.  Then he sent 2 spies to scout out the land, especially Jericho.

NOTE: I mean for this to say that after Joshua commanded the officers to prepare for battle, he then sent 2 spies to scout out the land.  The way I have it (above), does it look like he sent the spies out after 3 days?  Thank you!

To make it more clear make the following changes:   A brilliant military man, Joshua commanded the officers to prepare for battle and to set out three days later to conquer the land God had given them.  Then he sent two spies to scout out the land, especially Jericho.
