Comparing two or more things

How do I fix this sentence?

See example:

When he started writing, no one else was aware that as people got older they lost a lot of their childhood memories .

The software sees the word 'older' and immediately thinks (as far a software thinks) that this is a comparison.  Your sentence has an understood comarison, younger, that the program doesn't understand, but there is nothing wrong with your construction. You might try a different way to write this. I would also put the second part of the sentence in present tense, because this is an ongoing phenomenon.

When he started writing, no one else was aware that as people age they lose a lot of their childhood memories.

Here is the same sentence in past tense for comparison.

When he started writing, no one else was aware that as people aged they lost a lot of their childhood memories .
