Grammar Correct Written-Slang
The common abbreviation/written-slang for 'download' is 'DL' or 'dl'. If one wishes to say 'downloading' or 'downloaded' whilst still using the abbreviation, how would you say it should be written? (This would also apply to other similar abbreviated/written-slang words.)
A) dling/dled / DLing/DLed
B) dl'ing/dl'ed / DL'ing/DL'ed
C) dl-ing/dl-ed / DL-ing/DL-ed
D) option not listed

If you're texting, grammar is thrown out of the window, anyway, so if the recipient understands, you're fine.
If you're writing coherent English, downloading and downloaded would be used.

I agree with Lewis. There are no rules of grammar when one has chosen to ignore spelling and grammar.
