how would i improving these sentences and why
1.the restored sailing ship arrived in port today.
2.Lily purched strawberries from the supermarket.
3.The car was purchased with a cash payment by the buyer
First of all, the first word of each sentence needs to be capitalized.
1. The restored sailing ship arrived in port today. (Instead of sailing ship, sailboat would be more natural in most contexts.)
2. Lily purched strawberries from the supermarket. There is no such word as purched; the correct word is purchased; however, the verb purchase is unnecessarily formal: use bought instead.
3. The car was purchased with a cash payment by the buyer. There is no need, so far as I can see, for this sentence to be passive. Also, as mentioned above, purchase is too formal, and buy is much more common: The buyer paid cash for the car.
