Just wondering if I need to capitalize the words below if I am reffering to a thing....

The 'bog monster'. Being a name, I would say yes, but not sure and also whether the names of animals need to be capitalized as well at all times- hence, lions, tigers ect:. Any help would be appreciated.

Since the "bog monster" is just a made-up creature (I hope!), you can really set your own rules for it. But general animal names, like lion and tiger, don't need to be capitalized.

If there are multiple bog monsters, I'd recommend treating it like a common noun and keeping it lowercase. But if there's only one bog monster, you may want to consider treating it like a proper name (like Fluffy or Fido) and capitalizing it.

Many thanks. There are other bog monsters but they are rarely mentioned and don't come into play and yes, the bog monster is fictional otherwise we would all be covered in!!!!!!!

You always want to capitalize Bog Monster. If you don't, Bog Monster won't be happy.
