I found Visa International Service Association, a credit card company. I guess the 'visa' part is like the passport addon to get you into a country, and the made up the rest to make an acronym.

Sanjay, abbreviation is not the word you were looking for in your question. An abbreviation is a shortened form of a word. "Etc." is an abbreviation of etcetera.
The only shortened form of Visa (the company) is on the New York Stock Exchange. The company's symbol (or abbreviation) is simply V.
The company we generally call Visa does use all caps for its logo, but when writing the company name, we only capitalize the first letter. Visa seems to be both an abbreviation and an acronym of the parent company's full name – Visa International Service Association. V in the acronym stands for Visa. It's not often that an abbreviation and an acronym are the same. I am one example of that, though. My full name is Patricia Ann T..... . Pat is an abbreviation of Patricia. My initials (like an acronym) are PAT. Weird.
VISA can also be an acronym for any number of things:
- Virtual Instrument Software Architecture
- Vacation Insurance Savings Account
- Vision, Integrity, Structure, and Accounting
- Very Important Student Assistant
- Vatican International Services Agency
- Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement
