You have a number of problems in your sentence.
I believe that the “k” should be a capital letter in K-12.
You do not use an apostrophe to make a word plural.
There needs to be a comma after learners.
What is the functionality of reading or the functionality of comprehension? Functionality is the quality of being well-suited for the purpose. The purpose of reading is to learn or to be entertained. The action of reading is usually functional. I suspect that you mean the functionality of reading and comprehension tests. Educators want to know if tests are functional.
“And all the factors that surrounded them both” is quite vague. I would stick to something more specific. This makes it sound like you don’t completely comprehend the topic and are throwing a big net over it so you don’t miss anything. Pearson was most likely more specific about what was analyzed. You might want to read the section again so that you can paraphrase it better.
