Carrie, we generally are not fans of text speech around here. Also, remember that the word "I" is always capitalized. There are no exceptions.

The word how in your example sentence is misused. Replace it with the word that. This example may illustrate what I mean.
Explaining how I made the peanut butter sandwich: First, I got two pieces of bread, a jar of my favorite peanut butter, and a knife. I opened the peanut butter jar. Then I put the knife in .... (and on and on).
Explaining that I made the peanut butter sandwich: I made the peanut butter sandwich.
