Grammarly has several products, including online proofreading software.  There is a link at the bottom of the page to the main Grammarly site.  Grammarly Answers is a public forum for people to discuss grammar.  The participants here are not employees.  There is also a link below for support if you have questions about Grammarly's products.

I worked in a technology grad school for a lot of years, and my office mate for much of that time was the departmental editor and proofreader. She had to know a broad range of terms and methods, as well as grammar, to be able to slog her way through a dissertation or a paper for publication on the 'Analysis of Particulate Behavior and Boundary Layer Physics in Electrostatic Precipitation Devices'.

One thing I would like to add to Patty's comment is that in a technical field, such as medicine, the proofreader should be familiar with the specialized subject matter. It's a lot different that proofreading fiction and other types of straight prose
