Do you mean that your first friend has recently become engaged and the second has recently gotten a job (the recent past)?  If so, you could say

I don't know about 12/12/12, but 13/12/12 will definitely be a special, happy day for two of my friends: one has just gotten engaged, and the other has just landed a new job.

Or do you mean that these things will happen by 13/12/12 (the future)?  In this case you could say

I don't know about 12/12/12, but 13/12/12 will definitely be a special, happy day for two of my friends: one will be getting engaged, and the other will be starting a new job.
