Why did I get charged for $139 instead of the $87?

I received an email that stated, "Get one year of Grammarly at half off (a $175 value for only $87.50)", Yet I was changed $139.  WHY?

Yes, I got charged as well.  I signed up for a "free trial" and indicated if I liked the service I would pay $11.00 per month.  I got hit with a $139.95 charge!

Funny, I was able to access the free trial and couldn't find the pending charge on my PayPal account.  Then suddenly and mysteriously, $139.95 with a note saying, "we know you indicated you wanted to be charged monthly, but we thought we would just charge for the year now -- and save you a few bucks."  WTF?  This has to be illegal.

I'm PISSED.
